50 Samsung LCD problem

50 samsung lcd

I have a 50 Samsung LCD TV. It won't turrn on. All it does is blink its red light and make that start up sound over and over. I assume it is the capacitor problem which has already been repaired by Samsung once. It seems to be a fix I wll have to do every 1.5 years. I need to know how to get the replacement part and perhaps a little instruction so that I can fix myself this time.

Hi There,

Are you looking to swap out the whole board or just the faulty capacitors ?

Could you provide me with the model number of the unit please ? It should be on the rear of the unit near the power cable inlet.

I could handle just replacing the capacitor, but I am will to replace the whole board.

Could you provide me with the model number of the unit please ? It should be on the rear of the unit near the power cable inlet.

Hi There,

Ok, the part number for this board is BN44-00201A, typically I'd recommend ShopJimmy.com for the board as their parts are always in great condition and at great prices, but they appear to be sold out at the moment.

There are lots of boards on eBay at the moment:

Hi There,

If you wanted to repair it yourself, find the PSU board, it will be the board where the power cable from the wall connects to.

Have a look at the board and check all of the capacitors, they should have a completely flat top and should not be leaking any liquid. I've attached a picture below of a bulging capacitor which would need to be swapped out.

If you do find some then let me know, as it means my diagnosis was correct, you can then either buy a complete replacement board, or swap the capacitors out yourself. Make sure the replacements are of the same capacitance, if you can fit them in there, use a slightly higher voltage as they will last a little longer.

Hope this helps
